Monday is great day to attack my "To Do" list. Today, after working my weekend leads, contacting clients and servicing my listings I decided it was time to join Facebook.
I joined Twitter a few weeks ago, and although I'm still working on finding people and remembering to update it with some regularity, people are finding me. At first, I felt a little silly posting little snippets of my day, but I'm beginning to see the value in those little updates of what is happening and how I'm handling it. Actually, I think it is probably theraputic for us Type A agents and a good tracking device of how we spend our time.
With Facebook and Twitter up and running my social networking goals for 2009 are almost complete. Now the real fun begin--maintaining and maximizing the value for myself and my followers. Gee, that's a big responsibility and will require commitment and great content--every day.
Don't worry Active Rain, I won't neglect you. And to all my peeps, you know where to find me!

Congratulations on taking the big plunge! You certainly won't regret it. Just don't give up too easily, regardless how daunting it may seem at first to get the hang of it. You'll get it and you'll love it!
Kathy
I too joined FB last month and Twitter today. I am with you on the developing the friends etc., on both. I'm @ronbridges.
Norma, the great thing is that you can syndicate your blogging here to Facebook and Twitter.
Kathy, I hope so--nothing ventured, nothing gained.
Ron, we were on the same page today. Look me up.
Norma, you are SO ahead of me in this area. Let us all know in one to three months if you think it is worth it. I have been on the fence with these two for a year.
I wish I had time to do more but there is only so much time in the day
Tim & Pam, that was my catalyst---how easy is that?!
Watch the great video on the email today about facebook in 5 minutes.
Great to know that you are getting on Facebook and Twitter, just don't do what I did on FB and get booted off
Gary --I had time to get off the fence today---I'll let you know my successes and my frustrations.....
Hi Norma~ I am on Facebook and twitter. Are we friends there yet? If not, we need to be. This is all getting to be so much to keep up with!
Russ, I think that is why it took me two months to do it--at least I've accomplished something on my 2009 business plan.
Chuck, I did watch it, and I think I'll need to watch it frequently as a refresher course.
Sonny, do tell! Save me from myself, please....
Just found you...see you on facebook also!
Vickie --You're right about that--I had a headache after responding to all those long lost contacts, but once I become comfortable with it and get into the routine, I'm told by many users I will like it.
Sheila - Wonderful, and I will follow you too!
Nice post. Make sure you are aware of the new policy at Facebook however. That being, that you will not have any ability to retain your content once you post it on their network. This includes photos, videos, etc. Will update you if it changes again.
Joining Twitter is a must. It's the future of networking and you can do it now! :)
Everard --That is something I did not know. Please keep this novice posted on changes and thanks for sharing.
You go girl, I am a newbie on AR and was going to look into facebook next. Any advice yet?
I personally have not found the time to add Twitter to my business plan as I just don't have the time for it. I find Facebook to be VERY beneficial though. Let me know what you think of Twitter after a while and if it is worth the time and effort...
Kimberly, good grief no! I'm so very new at this, but I will post on my success or lack thereof.
Michael, I plan to post my experience with both Twitter and Facebook--you're welcome to check back and see if I'm taking any money to the bank.....
Norma - I have managed to attract both leads AND new agents from both of those networks, along with ActiveRain (of course). Please let me know if you have any questions at all.
Jason - You have no idea what you are volunteering for!! Seriously, thank you very much and I'm looking forward to creating some new paths in my brain as I learn to utilize both networks. Your success gives me hope.
I LOVE Twitter and Facebook and am actively using both to grow my business. Look me up @LesleyLambert and come join the fun!
Norma - I have facebook figured out with no problem. I just really can't figure out the whole twitter thing.
Norma - Love facebook and love camels, still getting into twitter - I just can't seem to grasp the function. Anyway ... the camel is cool! Thanks!
Naoma - I'll look you up today--after my "real work" is done---Oh, who am I kidding, I'll be playing with my new toys FB & Twitter (trying to shorten my learning curve) right after I finish the Palos Verdes broker tours this afternoon.
Lesley -- I'll look you up and maybe you will share those business growing secrets with me!
Robert - Twitter works in mysterious ways---or so I've been told.
Lisa - As you can see by the camel, I love new adventures--Facebook and Twitter will be one for sure!
