They walked in, accepted the handout with a polite smile and proceeded through the property. Before leaving they asked a couple questions, then requested to leave their information with me.
I'm sure he noticed my surprise at their request because he replied, "We liked you right away, so while we were in the backyard we Googled you."
You guessed it, they found my blog and profile on Active Rain. These are smart people, and not any agent will do. They want to know they are working with an active agent, an experienced agent and a trustworthy agent.
Sure, it takes time to write a blog but it is much more fun than sending out mailers, cold calling (I am not the telemarketing type--never did it, never will) or doing the hard sell at an open house.
These propsective buyers asked if they could work with me! How cool is that?
Here's to you Active Rain and all that Google juice!

It's great they found you when they googled you. It's always great when the buyer ask you to help them.
Evening Norma, Isn't all this technology just amazing !?! Of course, when it stops working things get a little challenging !
Thats a pretty cool story! Smart buyers...I don't think many people do that!
Neal - It does take more than luck!
Vickie - Instant information is available and today's savvy buyers are wise to use it before signing on the dotted line.
Hi Norma - that is VERY cool! Someone told me recently there is even a new song titled 'google me' haha. (I haven't heard it yet tho)
Mike - I love Google, think I'll buy some more shares.
Norma-Way to go! Congrats.
Yahoooooo that's what i want to hear - it works Norma - YEAHH good for you.

fantastic! are you selling them a home?
Now that is a real Tech savvy buyer..they couldn't even wait to get home!
Thanks for the motivating words! Blogging takes a lot of thought and time. I have to research to make sure I'm saying the correct things. I'm glad to see it's paying off for you. I did get two responses to one of my "localism" blogs last week. Not anyone wanting to purchase a house but they had blogged the subject I was talking about and came across me! You never know where it will lead!
Make sure your profile tells about you. Your past is sometimes what people identify with
Very cool. Living 'proof' that the time, thought, effort, care is worth it! -- If we hadn't known it before, stories like this remind us all. thanks for sharing it it.
Norma, I believe your posts are what draw people to you--or away from you. Your blogs are obviously hitting a nerve and clients are always turning to the computer. CONGRATULATIONS, they wanted a pro and they found one!

Larry, there's work to be done before the payoff, but I love having new clients ask if they can be my client! Sure beats dialing and mailing....
Alan - I think I like this part of instant gratification!
Sandy - They are in the pipeline!
Bill - You're right and I'm glad they didn't wait.
Barbara - I certainly was not expecting someone to google my name at my open house. Just goes to show you anyone can find you anywhere, anytime!
Russ - Common ground is a great connector.
That is great I have never been googled at an open house. It just goes to show that all the work and time you put in here can and will come back to you congatulations
Norma .. that is an awesome story and thank you for sharing! pippa
However, as more and more Realtors clog the Internet, it makes it that much easier for other Realtors to create some real nice niche markets by doing Open Houses, mailers, etc., you know, doing stuff the ol' fashioned way. Just ask my Partner, Jim Frimmer, a Realtor at Century 21 who got started in May 2005.
WoW, that is exciting! This is proof that our business is ever changing and we need to change with it!
Hurrah for Active Rain!
Russel - Good point, and it's a wise decision to keep the best of the old, and embrace only the best of the new.
Norma - How cool is that? The power of blogging... you just can't beat it.
Technology is really something isn't it. The power of AR!!
That is cool!

Debbie - It put a smile on my face!
April - Yes, and there is always something new. I just heard that Facebook played a huge role in the presidential election.
Steven - Cool and profitable--I'm all for that.
Caren - Now that I'm comfortable with blogging I hear Twittering is the new rage....
Christopher & Stephanie -- I have no intentions of stopping--too much fun right now and too much potential for big rewards in the future.
Tina - A warm lead wins every time with me!
Pippa - Yes, I no longer regetted all those hours of blogging!
