Palos Verdes Daily Photo--Architectural Styles

At one point in time, Palos Verdes was best known for ranch style homes.  However, in the very early days of development on the Palos Verdes Peninsula homes tended to be heavily influenced by the local Spanish heritage, and in some neighborhoods a red tile roof remains a design requirement.  Old Spanish architecture is still a sought-after architectural style in Palos Verdes.

Architecture in Palos Verdes

There are still plenty of ranch style homes on The Hill.  However, many of those post World War II modest ranch style homes have morphed into larger, more modern style homes.  For Mid-Century Modern lovers, there are a few gems nestled in the various neighborhoods.

Much of the newer construction in Palos Verdes falls under the Mediterranean style often with an American twist.  Oceanfront Estates in Rancho Palos Verdes comes to mind along with much of the newer construction in Palos Verdes Estates.

We have clients in the middle of updating a Rancho Palos Verdes home with a fresh modern flair.  The new design has more windows, higher ceilings, an open floorplan and attached garage.  The dated home with good bones, has entered the 21 century and is a good representation of luxury homes on the east side of the Palos Verdes Peninsula.

No matter what your architectural style of preference may be, given the wide variety of styles and home prices in Palos Verdes, there's likely a home on the market that will meet your needs.

The Spanish influence never made much of an impact here in ND Norma Toering Broker for Palos Verdes and Beach Cities but when I see it I really appreciate it.
