Purple Cow Quotes and Two Boring Brown Cows

"You're either a Purple Cow or you're not.  You're either remarkable or invisible.  Make your choice."

 

"Cows, after you've seen one or two or ten, are boring.  A Purple Cow though...now that would be something."

 

"Purple Cow describes something phenomenal, something counterintuitive and exciting and flat out unbelievable."

 

I'm into quotes this week, and I can't think of any better marketing guru than Seth Godin to read and remember.  If you need some fresh ideas and are willing to try marketing outside the box, he's the man.

I recently had a client who wanted a weekly ad in the Wall Street Journal.  He thought the Journal was the best place to advertise an upscale property.  I happily referred him to Purple Cow page 21.  "The Journal is the poster child for marketing old-think."  Seth Godin's word on the Wall Street Journal carried so much more weight than mine.

 

Business as usual with boring brown cows?  Or will you do something worthy of a Purple Cow wow?

How great to be able to pull a quote from the book for your seller. Agents who read and expand their knowledge on a consistent basis will be better prepared for these types of situations. I haven't read purple cow, but am making my way through "Small is the New Big" on audio. (It allows me to multi-task)
