This home staging tip is universal--let the light and view shine bright and beautiful. Remove or tie back heavy drapes and make those windows sparkle--the recipe for clean windows is at the end of the article.
My addition to the post is to use newspaper to dry the windows--it is lint free.
Home Staging Tips in Palm Beach County- We May Want To Buy the House But What We Really Want is to Be Outside!
If your house is on the market or you’re even thinking about ithere’s a tip to help your Buyer really SEE what they want to see. Think about it... the average temperature in Palm Beach County is about 83 degrees and the low is 66. When we check the weather it’s to check on the beach conditions and if there just may be rain in the forecast.
Most of us chose Palm Beach County because we love the weather, the sunshine and want to be outside. And we want to see the outside from our homes. If your house is on the market make sure your Buyers will be able to see outside and that means:
Clean your windows
Remove your screens to give your Buyer a clearer view.
Raise or tie back your window coveringsMix 2 Tablespoons of Cornstarch, ½ cup of Ammonia and ½ cup of White Vinegar in a bucket of warm water. Put the solution in a spray bottle and start cleaning. Be sure to use a lint-free cloth or dry paper towel to wipe the windows. Believe it or not the cornstarch helps to keep the windows shiny.Remember... 1st Impressions Do Matter!

here’s a tip to help your Buyer really SEE what they want to see.

I've just scheduled some cleaners to come to a new listing with panoramic valley and ocean views primarily because of big, dirty windows! Gotta get done!
Had never heard a recipe that included cornstarch, Norma ... so glad that you re-blogged this helpful post. Will definitely try this out when warmer weather returns to IL. Right now it's only in the 20's outside ... brrrrr ...

Jeff - Sparkling clean windows make such a difference and it is such an easy fix.
Gene - January is not the time of year to wash windows in Chicago--I know how cold those winters can be.
Light is so important in staging a unit to sell. You should see some of tha bat caves that we have here in Manhattan that can be quite expensive.
I whole-heartedly agree! Cleaning the windows makes a world of difference. Bright white lightbulbs also make a big difference (hate those yellowish fluorescents!).
Thanks for reposting Kathy's blog. She is wonderful.
