If Clients Gave Report Cards

My seven year old grandson recently received an award for being A Model 2nd Grader.  He was not quite sure what it meant.  His mother explained his efforts, attitude, preparation and performance were exceptional, and his teacher hoped other students would model their behavior after his.  He felt pretty good after hearing that.  He's pretty good at his job.

As agents and independent contractors we do not receive annual reviews (at least I never have), and we do not receive written report cards.  As a former teacher, I found myself thinking perhaps it would be a good idea to design a quick and easy report card for my customers and clients to fill out.

We often receive testimonials--usually from raving fans.  But maybe if we sometimes received a letter grade we would think "C--you mean my efforts were perceived as average?  What can I do in the future to earn an A or at least a B?  A little extra credit effort might do the trick.

My report card is earning the right to ask for referrals (over and over again). If I can't get a referral it tells me the job I have done.

Norma, report cards would be a good idea. My last company actually sent out cards for feedback. Very helpful to get a client's perspective. Fortunately they were all good. ;-)

Norma:  As was said above... I think that getting a referral from a former client give about the best and most accurate "report card" one can get.  Referrals mean you got an A+.  Thanks for sharing... take care...

Norma, please congratulate your grandson for me.  He has every right to be proud of himself for a deed well done.
