The event was planned weeks in advance, but Mother Nature had a different plan in place for February 5, 2010!  A few loyal clients braved the torrential downpour and attended the twilight open houses at The Estates at Trump National Golf Course last night!

I felt like a duck on one of the water features of the golf course in my over-sized yellow slicker as I dashed from my car to the welcoming lights and warmth of 2990 Twin Harbor View Drive, in Rancho Palos Verdes.  The panoramic ocean view was ensconced in coastal fog and we could only peer out at the pool as the rain pelted the windows and classical music failed to filter out the sound of the pounding rain.

Ahh, but it was almost romantic to be on the cliffs high above the Pacific Ocean enjoying a glass of wine, a slice of cheese and experiencing the storm from inside a gorgeous $4,400,000 Trump home.

The Pacific Ocean is your never-ending back yard, and Trump National Golf Course is steps away from your front door.  If you thought the Estates at Trump National were out of your league, you might want to re-visit the idea.

If the first weekend of 2010 is a bellweather of things to come, I think I'm going to have a great time during the next twelve months.  Saturday morning will find me writing emails to escrow in preparation for an early January closing and removing inspection contingencies for another upcoming closing.

Yes, you can have an ocean view and horses in Palos Verdes.  You can also live in a gated community surrounded by stunning natural beauty and enjoy one of the best climates on the Palos Verdes Peninsula.  Located just off Palos Verdes Dr. South, the Portuguese Bend Club equestrian neighborhood is smaller than the gated city of Rolling Hills (and less expensive) but it, too, is graced with abundant open spaces, horse and hiking trails and spectacular views of the Pacific Ocean.

I am watching the neighborhood for a client who has kids and horses.  We're hoping a four bedroom with stables and a view will come on the market in the next few months.  Portuguese Bend home prices range from just under $1,000,000 to multi-million dollar equestrian compounds. 

The Portuguese Bend Club has a neighborhood stable for boarding horses, riding rings and exercise areas plus miles of riding trails.  The Portuguese Bend Club Horse Show is an annual event in the neighborhood.

Located on Palos Verdes Drive South between Donald Trump's golf course and Terranea Resort the Portuguese Bend neighborhood is a few minutes from recreational and fine dining options.  Upon entering the gates you will find it hard to believe you are in Los Angeles County.
