I enjoyed lunch with a friend at Mr. Chow in Beverly Hills this week. It was a quiet Monday and I accepted the impromtu invitation without hesitation. If you haven't experienced Chinese food at this trendy restaurant it is an experience worthy of putting on your bucket list. Come to think of it, I would have accepted the invitation regardless of my workload.
As we headed back to the 405 Freeway I noticed Wilshire Blvd. was lined with banners depicting Frida Kahlo's face. Yes, there's an art show coming to LA featuring the works of female surrealist artists. The Los Angeles County Museum of Art will exhibit more than 175 works by 47 artists including Frida Kahlo, Louise Bourgeois and Leonora Carrington along with lesser-known surrealist’s artists such as Maya Deren and Helen Lundeberg. The LACMA show opened January 29 and will run through May 6.
If you love photography, Los Angeles and Ansel Adams there is a not to be missed exhibit of his work depicting Los Angeles in the 1940s opening soon. The Ansel Adams Los Angeles Exhibit goes on view at dkrm Gallery February 18.
drkrm is located at 727 S. Spring Street in the Gallery Row district of Downtown Los Angeles.
