Boitano Palms - Boitano Palms Video

Portuguese Bend Beach is not readily accessible;entrance is either through the gated community of the Portuguese Bend Beach Club with a 24 hr. guard, or a hike from Trump National Golf Course that includes traversing down a rather steep bluff.  Once there, you will be enchanted with this little strip of sandy beach.  The waves are strong and wash ashore rocks, driftwood and other treasures from the sea.  Seashells are far and few in between, but once in awhile you will be gifted with a beauty.

The true wonder is found in the assault on the senses.  The sound of the waves, the feel of saltspray on the skin, the sea breeze blowing through your hair, the teeming marine life in the tidepools, and yes, the sand between your toes.  I live close enough to Portuguese Bend Beach to enjoy its pleasures and treasures several times a week.  It's a great place to get in touch with nature, get a cardiovascular workout and sooth your soul. 

 The residents of Palos Verdes are fortunate to have many miles of coastline, spectacular bluffs and sheltered coves, but Portuguese Bend Beach offers rocks to sit on, a sandy beach to walk on and a cliff from which to survey the surrounding area. The views are breathtaking.

Trump National Restaurant serves a wonderful breakfast for golfers and hikers.  A friend and I dined on the patio after our walk one recent weekday, and it was a delicious way to start the day. The Portuguese Bend Beach is one of many reasons selling real estate on the Palos Verdes Peninsula is such a pleasure-- and there is so much more to discover.

I've read hundreds of posts, bookmarked several as reference sources and subscribed to a few blogs during my first month on Active Rain.  It has made my sleepless nights in Palos Verdes much more productive---Pogo games can be such a waste of time!  Members, thank you for taking the time to write so many thought provoking and educational posts.  This is one of the best continuing education classes I've ever signed up for.
